To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the classic Metallica album Master of Puppets, the gang performed on Late Show With Stephen Colbert last night (March 3rd).

Master Of Puppets was the first album Metallica recorded and released after signing with major label Elektra Records in 1986. It’s also the last record to have bassist Cliff Burton on it, who was sadly killed later that year in a tour bus accident.

 

 

A lot of the songs from this album are Metallica concert staples too, like the title track, “Welcome Home (Sanitarium)” and “Battery”, which is what Metallica chose to perform last night. Watch the full performance of “Battery” below.
