Last Saturday, Anaheim played host to a fantastic UFC event. There were several entertaining fights, and overall the card was well worth watching – with one exception.

UFC Welterweight champion Tyron Woodley defended his title agains Damian Maia in what ended up being a complete snoozer of a fight. The two men combined to throw just 86 strikes over 25 minutes, setting a dubious record for least amount of strikes thrown in a title fight.

While fans and keyboard warriors alike voiced their displeasure at the fight, it was UFC President Dana White’s comments that probably hit hardest. White criticized the champ, pointing out that Maia had one eye swollen shut early in the fight, and that Woodley is younger and more athletic. Also, he holds true one punch knockout power in his hands.

Woodly did not respond well to the criticism, and has now demanded a public apology from his boss. He has said that if White doesn’t apologize, Woodley will release things that could be damaging.

Sounds like something right out of the White House, which is kind of sad when you think about it.
