An email tweeted out by local photographer Robert Murray is stirring up the arts scene in Fort McMurray. An administrator had emailed several local photographers asking for an aerial photo to be used on a new banner for MLA’s Brian Jean and Tany Yao.

The catch, there would be no payment. Instead the photographer chosen would be paid in ‘exposure‘? I think it’s time local artists get the recognition they deserve. You’re telling me our MLA’s can’t afford to pay for a photo that someone worked hard at to get? Photography is a career for some people, it’s not a hobby. You can’t pay bills and put food on the table with exposure,
